We made it! It’s Day 12 of 12 Days of Christmas Cookies. I know Christmas is over, but it will be here again before you know it.
I really wanted to get all of these posted before Christmas, but that didn’t happen. It’s fine though. Now you have a nice reference for 12 different kinds of delicious cookies to make during the next holiday season. Really, you could make these anytime of the year. I bet your friends and family would love that.
Let’s get to the recipe for today. I saved to best for last. Classic rolled sugar cookies! But wait, these are easy. I promise. With this recipe, you don’t have to chill the dough. Nice!!
I found this recipe over at In Katrina’s Kitchen. When I read that her recipe called for NO CHILLING the dough and perfect edges, I was like, “Game on!”
There’s nothing worse than having to wait for dough to chill and then cutting out nice shapes only to have them turn into unrecognizable blobs in the oven. With this recipe you just mix up your ingredients,
roll out the dough, and cut out your shapes.
Then you bake them and they turn out so pretty !
Let them cool and then you can decorate them. I iced them with a simple powdered sugar icing and my assistant, Owen, gave them a generous dose of sprinkles.
Give them a try!
