Everything was awesome at Owen’s Lego inspired birthday party! Asa was our first big Lego fan and because of this, he had a ton of Legos to pass down to Owen. Over the past year, Owen become obsessed with Legos, so he easily picked this theme for his party.
The Lego Movie was our main source of inspiration. If you have not seen it, you should! I knew I wanted to incorporate Lego mini-figure heads in the party decor. I was so happy to find cute vinyl cut outs and even happier that the Etsy shop, TypoRiffic could get them to me quickly! She saved the party with vinyl cuts that I added to water bottles, paper plates and clear Solo cups.
I also found a free Lego font to make the “Everything Is Awesome” banner. I made mini-figure head marshmallow pops and used candy molds to make Lego bricks for the top of the cake and cupcakes. At the last minute, I found instant download Lego props to make a fun photo booth. I made a little bunting using Lego colors as the backdrop for the booth.
On the menu we had tacos (free tacos on Tuesday!), tortilla chips in red treat cups (pieces of resistance), lemonade for the kiddos and Lego City Sangria for the adults. We ended the party with cake, cupcakes and outside play with a bubble machine and a bounce house.
It was a truly awesome day! This Lego party was a big hit with both the kids and the adults.
