My recipe today isn’t really a recipe. Making Avocado Toast is more like a technique. It’s so simple and so yummy that anyone can make this!
Avocado Toast is kind of a big thing these days. It has been for awhile. It’s trendy in little bistros and brunch joints, but it is so crazy easy that you can easily make it at home. It’s like spreading toasted bread with a huge glob of butter. Except, avocado is way better than butter. It’s healthier than butter, too. I’m not dissing butter. It’s a mainstay in our house, but I am saying that avocado trumps butter when it come to making this delightful creation.
Avocado is on e of my favorite foods. I like it on tacos, I like it on sandwiches. I like it on salads. Heck, I even like to eat it straight up. But, there is something really yummy about it spread on bread.
I usually make my avocado toast plain. I just mash up an avocado, add a little salt and pepper and spread it on toasted bread. But today, I added some toppings!
This dish started with good bread that I toasted. Then I mashed up avocado and added salt and pepper. I spread the avocado on the toast and topped it crispy bacon and chopped tomatoes. Easy peasy! And so very delicious. Do you like avocado toast? Do you like it plain jane or with fun toppings?
