Hello, old friends and new ones, too! I am wiping away the cobwebs and fixing the rusty door on my blog. It’s been way too long. I am so ready to jump back in and share some awesome recipes with you. Cocktails, happy hour snacks and who knows…much more.
You may not know, but we moved our family this Summer. We left the sunny bliss of the Golden Isles of Georgia and relocated to the lush wonderland of mountains of North Georgia. I feel like the luckiest girl alive to be able to experience both of these places. Hiking and exploring have become my new favorite things. I am always up for an adventure because there is so much adventuring to do here.
I took the Summer off to get through the move and get my kiddos situated in school. I did keep up my client work in product and food photography, but I completely let the blog just sit. But, now that we are back in a routine and I have found a great space for photography, I am eager to get back to one of the things I love to do: make and share recipes with you!
This one is a darn tasty adult beverage. It’s a Strawberry Shrub Cocktail with Cucumber. This drink is made with vodka, Sage’s Larder Strawberry Shrub and Cucumber. We are closing in on Fall, but the produce in my fridge screams Summer. Fresh cucumbers and strawberries? Yes please!
I have made my own shrubs in the past. If you want to know how, check out this post where I made a peach shrub. Shrubs are a great way to preserve the flavor of your favorite fruits beyond the growing season. My friend, Jovan, at Sage’s Larder, makes delicious small batch shrubs, teas, pickles, and jams. Her Strawberry Shrub is so yummy!
This is the perfect cocktail to mix up this weekend. Give it a try and let me know what you think! Cheers!
