This post for Citrus Pineapple Holiday Punch is in partnership with Natalie’s Orchid Island Juice Company, but opinions are 100% my own.
Citrus Pineapple Punch is an easy holiday punch recipe
When my Grandmothers were in their holiday hay day, Christmas punch was a staple at parties. They also served it on Christmas day, complete with a large punch bowl and tiny punch glasses. Some years they opted to make Eggnog instead of punch, but you can bet there was always a big batch drink available.
This easy recipe is a nod to punch recipes of the past. But, I developed it to include all natural ingredients, such as Natalie’s Orange Pineapple Juice which contains ONLY two ingredients: fresh Florida oranges and ripe pineapples.
Ingredients You Will Need to Make this Punch:
- Brandy. Truth be told, I am not a Brandy aficionado, but I do like E&J VS. The VS stands for “very special.” I am not sure what’s very special about it, but it’s pretty smooth and tastes great in this punch. If you want to make a non-alcoholic version of this recipe, you can leave this out.
- Natalie’s Orange Pineapple Juice. If you can find Natalie’s in your area, use a mix of orange juice and pineapple juice.
- Fresh lemon juice. Fresh squeezed is best. You will need about 3-4 large lemons to squeeze plus a few more for garnishes.
- Simple syrup. This is easy to make, but you can find it in the cocktail section of most grocery stores. It’s simply a mixture of equal parts sugar and water, that is heated until the sugar dissolves fully. You can make a batch and keep in in the fridge for weeks.
- Club soda gives this punch a fizzy freshness!
How to Make the Best Boozy Holiday Punch Recipe:
- A day or two before you make this recipe, put all of the ingredients in the fridge to chill.
- Early in the day you are planning to serve this punch, mix the brandy, orange pineapple juice, lemon juice and simple syrup. This recipe fits nicely in a medium pitcher. You can easily double or triple this recipe to make larger batches for a punch bowl. If serving in a punch bowl, it would be super fun to make a fruity ice ring! Make it with Orange Pineapple juice and you won’t water down the punch.
- Add the club soda right before you serve. That way the punch is fizzy and fresh!
Ways to Put Your Own Spin on this Citrus Pineapple Holiday Punch:
I am all for changing up a cocktail recipe to suit your own tastes. Or you may be wanting to edit the recipe to fit your menu or your guests desires. Either way, there are tons of ways you could alter this recipe.
- Change out the Brandy for vodka, bourbon or rum. Just like most punches, you can change out the booze to suit your tastes. You can also leave out the booze and make this a great family-friendly holiday drink.
- You can substitute another juice for the Orange Pineapple juice. Go for just Pineapple juice. Or Cranberry juice would be super tasty as well.
- Use fresh squeezed lime juice instead of lemon.
- Make or buy a flavored simple syrup. I think a Spiced simple syrup, like the one I made for this Tangerine Spiced Soda would be a delicious flavor in this punch recipe.
- Use chilled ginger ale instead of club soda. Even a cranberry or raspberry ginger ale would be fitting!
- Skip the Club Soda and serve this punch warm. I think it would be perfect for a cold, wintry day.
